The British Poultry Council welcomes the first major review of our food system in 75 years that will determine a national food strategy that looks beyond Brexit.

BPC Chief Executive, Richard Griffiths, said:
“We’ve got an excellent opportunity to sustainably feed people in this country; with food producers, government, and society all playing their part. A system that puts food on the tables of those most at risk of hunger and malnutrition will ensure feeding people remains at the heart of society.

Food is a special case, it should be treated as a national security issue, and be protected as such. The British Poultry Council is looking forward to working with Henry Dimbleby and his team to help support the creation of a much-awaited national food strategy that ensures everyone has access to safe, wholesome and affordable food, including the most vulnerable.”
